Luca Gualco

Background

In the house of maestro Luis Landea in the Ligurian hinterland I learned the basics of my musical style, very particular, based on respect for the rigorous text and a very theatrical interpretative style.

The melodies of the Renaissance and Baroque repertoire made me appreciate the importance of the essential thanks to the European tours made with the historical group of the Czech Philharmonic of “The Madrigalists” of Prague. In Berlin, together with the singer Celestina Casapietra, first soprano soloist of the Berlin opera, I learned to accompany and understand the needs of the singers, and what is often not noticed in music, the breaths, the pauses, the silences.

Life took me to travel the world on cruise ships where I started to discover the music I wanted to make, my audience there was so varied. I then began to improvise simple and catchy melodies, accessible to everyone, even to those who had nothing to do with the classical repertoire.

And here is slowly forming this personal style of mine, very immediate, melodic and sometimes refined with very classical harmonies.

The sea is the bond of a lifetime, the waves and its scent, the changes in color and all the shades of the sea itself inspire the succession of notes, pauses, the coming and going of sound.
